The supposed owner and main information dealer of The Kraken, this...man? Woman? Thing? (They keep correcting you to a different pronoun, and laughing,) Regardless of what they are, they seem to run the restaurant and the staff within it. By the way some of those tentacles on the platters move in tandem with this hooded figure's motions, you have a feeling they're not quite natural...or human. They seem to favour historical objects, artifacts, books, odd statuettes...and just about anything you'd expect to find at some sketchy antique corner store. In exchange they offer an amazing array of services, but not without a pretentious tone and holier-than-thou attitude. { PROFILE }

ISEUL

One of the waitresses and bartenders of the restaurant, this hooded figure--with her flick of a forked tongue and a disinterested snort--seems to be relatively apathetic in her job and almost reluctant to serve you. You always hear something hissing from her sleeves and sometimes, just sometimes, you catch her licking her lips as she stares straight at you. She seems to know some ins and outs about some areas, and claims to even have a map or two handy, especially of more convoluted locations like the Orpheum. In return, she asks for your experience. Go out there and try something, and tell her how it works out, and she'll throw you her own experiences in exchange. { PROFILE }

AYATO

This one hangs around so casually, at first glance, you wouldn't even know that he was also a staff member — but then he rises, and his familiarity with the staff and the customers and how he commands a corner of the restaurant say something else. A sharp, icy yet amused eye flashes from beneath the hood, and the smile is both sharp and entertained. The hooded figure's name is Ayato, and he is the professional gambler that hangs around at the Kraken. He holds priceless gossip and can translate artifacts in foreign languages for you... if you can beat him in a gambling game. Be wary — his eyes are sharp, and his skills are good. You'll have to do more than just cheat him out.

The fantastic single chef of The Kraken who doesn't speak a single word. They barely even acknowledge the presence of customers--simply giving brief nods and signals to the other staff members--but on the rare occasion you can catch a beaming grin from under their hood at a compliment to their cooking. Once in a blue moon you can hear them chuckle as they listen to another satisfied customer speaking in awe. With cheap prices and delicious food, it's no wonder how The Kraken managed to become to popular in the Illeuad. Every once in a while, the chef will pour a free drink or cook up a meal on the house for the few wayward stragglers that find their way inside, and maybe even toss them a few coins to help their future endeavors.

ALEX

Arguably the friendliest hooded figure that lurks in the odd restaurant, she spends most of her time lingering near the entrances to The Kraken and the main dining area to monitor the guests and keep out trouble. Though the bulk of her figure is hidden by all her dark robes, when she shoots you a quick wave you swear she can snap you in half with that single hand. For a simple price--or sometimes none at all--Alex, as she calls herself, will be your personal bodyguard throughout the Illeuad. Though she may not be the best at solving complex puzzles or delicate diplomacy, her brute strength, straightforward thinking, and motivational aura is enough to make her a great ally. { PROFILE }

A tall, handsome young man(?) who is often spotted wandering the streets of the Illeuad--particularly within the dark alleyways and paths around the city. With messy dark hair and a perpetually disheveled white button-up shirt, his gentle smile is enough to complete their genuine, if not harmless, demeanor. Though Minjae seems to bear no ill will to whomever they meet, their requests are always odd; to catch and bring them specific monsters in return for their gratitude and 'something special'. Despite the mysterious air that surrounds them, Minjae is awfully jovial and polite to all others. He seems to, at the very least, be very good acquaintances with Ahyo to the point where she will actively do whatever he asks of her. His courtesy and kindness increases tenfold towards women in general, always making sure to only display the utmost respect to them. Men, on the other hand, get the shorter end of the stick; Minjae's words are much more curt and wary, and may sometimes border on the edge of being hostile. Alongside his clumsy appearance, he never seems to open his eyes. Although his eyes remain closed, Minjae seems to know perfectly of their surroundings, whatever's nearby, and even being able to read. Nobody is quite sure how he does this. Permissions Very difficult to injure in any way. Ask first. Immortal and cannot be killed. Physical contact to some degree is allowed but will only be received positively if it's from a woman-aligned character. Men will likely be met with hostility or, in extreme cases, violence. Mindreaders will likely be unable to read his mind unless if he himself decides he wants to entertain them. Ask first. Woman-aligned characters will be entirely cherished by him.
